Here today on the Mask Website we are finally given the oppurtunity to interview the star of the upcoming movie-remake The Mask, Jack Hughes.
INTERVIEWER
Why did you want to do the movie?
JACK
It was a new experience which I wanted to try out. Also I'm interested in drama at school and I felt the acting oppurtunity would benefeit my education.
INTERVIEWER
Are you hoping for this movie to be better than the original or be about the same? If so, do you hope you can replace Jim Carrey as the best Mask there is?
JACK
Well, Jim Carrey is my role model and I would like to fulfill my childhood dream of meeting him and this movie could put me closer to that dream. Our budget is smaller than the blockbuster original, but we're hoping that, with a good script, we can interest a wide audience.
INTERVIEWER
Have you ever starred in any films or TV programmes beforehand or is this your first big performance?
JACK
This is my first proper film debut even though I was a bit of a 'performer' in my family films.
INTERVIEWER
Do you reckon there could be a possible sequel involved with this film, or do you reckon this will be the last time we'll ever see the Mask on screen?
JACK
Well, we are hoping that this film will be a great success. If so, there may well be a sequel to make. Personally I think this film is going to be a great success, and hopefully reach a proffessional's attention.
INTERVIEWER
One last question then; do you think that the tactic of using the script to the original film as 'influence' is a good idea?
JACK
The first film caught a wide range of people's attention and because of this, with a little tweaking, our movie could be as everyone is anticipating.
INTERVIEWER
Great. Well, thank you for letting us to interview you, Jack, we hope to hear more about filming soon.
Well, there you have it, folks, the first ever interview with Jack Hughes as he prepares to begin filming in January/February next year. The film is due for a release date of next New Year, so book your tickets forthe premiere!
